STRATEGIC PARTNERS
THIRD PLACE HUBS
We support, partner with, and promote the community hubs where art is made & displayed.
“The nature of a third place is one in which the presence of a regular is always welcome, although never required. Membership is a simple, fluid process of frequent social contact, renewed each time by choice of the people involved. Eventually, social bonds develop through a type of informal intimacy outside of any commitment, existing solely in the realm of basic human respect--one valuable kernel that is slipping away from our isolated modern world.” ― Ray Oldenburg, Celebrating the Third Place
Vertical Camp at Burning Man is our original Third Place where we experimented with an incubator that provides emerging artists with food, infrastructure, and support to experimenting with building big. We are home to major artworks: Trojan Hose 2011, Black Burner Project Black Asé 2022 and 2024, and Farmer the Rigger 2023. We resolved to move to Third Places ‘beyond the fence’ in order to better serve our ecosystem of artists and now boast a network of diverse hubs in the Bay Area.
